Halloween
Candy Buy Back
|
|
 ABO will be hosting our fifth annual Halloween Candy
Buy Back! Have a great time Trick-or-Treating but when you get home
please remember to avoid nuts, sugary gum, and candies that are hard or
sticky. If you would like to turn your candy into cash bring it to us! We
will have staff available at both offices on Monday, November 2nd
from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to buy your Halloween candy. We pay $1.00 per
pound (up to ten pounds!) and patients will earn one (1) Swipe ‘n Smile
point for coming. Invite your friends and neighbors to come, too!
The candy will be donated to Community Harvest Food Bank.

Back-to-School
Reminders
|
|
 *Please remember to safely put retainers in their
cases at lunchtime. Do NOT put them on the lunch trays. This will
help avoid accidentally throwing them out.
*Remember to keep extra wax, a proxibrush,
and rubber bands in your bookbags so you’ll have the supplies when you
need them.
*ABO has previously supplied many of the
SWAC and HCCS schools with “orthodontic emergency kits” for the school
nurses. We will be going back out at the end of September to
restock those kits. If you would like to be sure that your child’s
school has the emergency information, please contact us.

2010
Calendar Contest
|
|
 Get
your colored pencils and imaginations ready because it’s that time
again! We would love for our patients to draw and color a picture
for our annual ABO calendar. This year the theme is to draw
something “braces related” for the month of your birthday. Some
examples would be a snowman with braces for a January birthday, a pumpkin
with braces for an October birthday, or a leprechaun with a pot of braces
at the end of a rainbow for a March birthday. Be creative and
colorful! We will have the pages available at either office or it
can be printed from our website on the Fun Focus page. Drop off the
drawings at our offices or mail them to us by the November 2nd
deadline. Anyone who participates in our calendar contest will
earn two (2) Swipe 'n Smile points. The winners will receive an
additional eight (8) points and they and their dentist will also receive
a calendar to display proudly throughout the year.

October
is National Orthodontic Health Month
|
|
 To help us celebrate National Orthodontic
Health Month we have put together a “How Well Do You Know Dr. Becker?”
quiz! This fun quiz will be available during the month of
October. Go to our website under Fun Focus and complete the short
quiz. All participants will earn one (1) Swipe 'n Smile
point. All quizzes that are 100% correct will be entered into a
drawing and the winner will earn an additional five (5) points.

Thanks
for Coming to Our Party!

 Thanks to all who came to our Patient Appreciation
Roller Skating Parties! We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed seeing
people dressed up in the 1980’s style. Go to our website and check
out the video we made on the bottom of the Fun Focus page. Also, thank
you from us and the Salvation Army for the generous donations to
the Tools for Schools program. You all helped to provide some much needed
school necessities to some very deserving kids.

(August). They all found the monthly hidden “treasure” somewhere on
the ABO website and were entered into a drawing to earn an extra Swipe ‘n

 We are proud to celebrate Susie’s 20th anniversary
with ABO. She is a very talented, skilled, caring and knowledgeable

Dr.
Becker is Getting a Facelift!
|
|
  Not
really, just her Fort Wayne office. The Fort Wayne office will be
undergoing some remodeling to accommodate a new digital x-ray
machine. During this time we will also be replacing the carpet
and updating the clinic. Please forgive any dust that may occur
during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience to our
patients and thank you for your patience. We are really excited
about the changes!
